Abstract

For centuries, time travelling was defined only as a mind adventure and a way to create stories and tales. Philosophers reflected on the theme of time and its irregularities. In Physics, Sir Isaac Newton developed his theory about time stating that it is measurable, constant, and straight.

For the natural days are truly unequal, though they are commonly considered as equal, and used for a measure of time; astronomers correct this inequality for their more accurate deducing of the celestial motions […] time may be accurately measured. (Newton, 1846: 78)
